Starseeds

What are starseeds?

Starseeds, within the framework of some New Age beliefs, are individuals whose souls are believed to have originated from other planets or star systems before incarnating on Earth. They are thought to possess a deep cosmic connection and a unique spiritual purpose related to planetary evolution and human enlightenment.

Basic concepts of Starseeds...

Extraterrestrial Origin:

Starseeds are believed to be souls that have had past lives on other planets or star systems before incarnating on Earth.

Cosmic Connection:

They often feel a strong affinity for the cosmos, stars, and other celestial bodies, sometimes experiencing a longing for a home they can't quite place.

Spiritual Purpose:

Starseeds are thought to be here with a specific mission to help humanity evolve, raise consciousness, and heal the planet.

Forgotten Origins:

While starseeds are believed to possess innate spiritual wisdom, they often incarnate with a veil of forgetfulness, unaware of their true origins and purpose.

Awakening:

Starseeds may experience an awakening process where they begin to remember their true nature and their mission.

What types of Starseeds exist?

Various belief systems propose different classifications of starseeds based on their origin:

  • Pleiadian: Believed to originate from the Pleiades star cluster, known for their focus on love, harmony, and well-being.
  • Arcturian: Believed to come from the Arcturus star system, often associated with wisdom, healing, and technological advancements.
  • Sirian: Believed to originate from the Sirius star system, associated with a strong presence and leadership qualities.
  • Lemurian: Connected to the ancient civilization of Lemuria, often associated with healing, spiritual knowledge, and connection to the Earth.
  • Indigo, Crystal, and Rainbow Children: These categories are often associated with starseeds who are thought to be born with specific traits and missions related to spiritual awakening and planetary healing.

What are the characteristics of Starseeds -- and do you have any of these characteristics yourself?

Feeling different from others, a sense of being an outsider.

Strong intuition and psychic abilities.

Deep empathy and compassion for others.

A desire for knowledge and spiritual growth.

A tendency to question societal norms and traditions.

Starseeds do have their critics and are surrounded by a healthy dose of scepticism.

  • The concept of starseeds is rooted in New Age beliefs and is not supported by mainstream, scientific, or academic research.
  • Some critics view starseed beliefs as a form of pseudoscience, or a way to feel special and unique.
  • There is also the concern that some individuals may use starseed beliefs to justify harmful or unethical behaviors.

Star people, or starseeds, are a variant of the belief in alien-human hybrids in New Age belief and fringe theory. Introduced by Brad Steiger in his 1976 book Gods of Aquarius, it argues that certain people originated as extraterrestrials and arrived on Earth through birth, or as a walk-in to an already existing human body.

Steiger described Star People in his 1976 book on contactees as... "humans who come from a special gene pool linked to visits by extraterrestrials".

They claim to channel human lifeforms and suffer helplessness and total amnesia concerning their identity, origins, and life-purpose. The awakening process claimed to be experienced is described as either a gradual series of realizations over time, or an abrupt and dramatic awakening of consciousness. Through the awakening process, they regain memories about their past, origins, and missions.

Washington Post journalist, Joel Achenbach, interviewed people who said they were starseeds from the Pleiades for his book Captured by Aliens: The Search for Life and Truth in a Very Large Universe, and noted the contrast with ufologists..."the starseeds are precisely the kind of New-age figures the traditional ufologists can't stand. Ufologists look outward, toward the universe, for answers to the alien enigma. New-agers look inward."

How can you experience your Spirit Guides, and how do we know when they are present?

Once you begin inviting in your spirit guides, there are different ways you might experience their presence.

  • inner knowing
You can experience a spirit guide as an inner knowing. You may feel or sense your guide’s presence, or hear a voice within, like a strong intuition or realization. Some people audibly hear (or see) their guides.  Many people report feeling a sense of guidance or intuition, like a gentle nudge in the right direction, or a feeling of knowing when something is "off".  Some individuals experience a surge of energy, or a feeling of warmth and comfort, when their spirit guides are present.

  • sparks of light
Sparks of light are another indicator of a spirit guide’s presence.  While less common, some individuals report seeing or sensing the presence of their spirit guides, often as light beings, as flickering lights, or figures.

  • free-writing after meditation
Another way you can experience the presence of a spirit guide is through writing, as a form of automatic writing. You can call on your spirit guides through meditation, and following your meditation you can free-write and allow the voice of your guides to work through you.

  • Audible Voices:
Occasionally, people report hearing voices or receiving messages directly from their spirit guides, sometimes in a way that feels almost like an inner voice.

  • Physical Sensations:
Some people report physical sensations, such as a tickling or tingling sensation, or a feeling of being pushed in a certain direction.

  • Signs and Symbols:
Spirit guides may communicate through signs and symbols, such as seeing a specific number repeatedly, or finding a particular object at a certain time, or finding it repeatedly and often in unexplainable places.

  • Unexpected Encounters:
Some people report having unexpected encounters with their spirit guides, such as a sudden feeling of knowing someone you just met, a familiarity that should be impossible, or having a conversation with a person who seems to know them intimately, but that would be impossible.

  • Personal Relationships:
Some people develop a strong personal relationship with their spirit guides, viewing them as mentors, friends, or even family.

  • Learning and Growth:
Spirit guides can help individuals learn and grow by offering insights into their lives and helping them to overcome challenges.

During part of my journey on this pagan path, I was introduced to two of my spirit guides, in dreams.

The dark-haired cat lady:

She resided in some sort of large helter-skelter kitchen, her countertops filled with bowls and cutlery and herbs and small bottles and jars and open cupboards and pots and pans all over the place… and cats. Cats of all colors sitting calmly on the countertops, stretched out on the floor under the table and lounging in a patch of sun by the window. All colors and sizes, wherever you looked. Cats, cats, cats.

She was small but thick, almost elfin, and her black and gray streaked hair was a wild untamed tangled frizzy mess, her 136 nose was large, her features coarse but pleasing, her shoulders slightly hunched, with a hint of a widow’s hump. She wore a long boldly colored shiny silk house dress, with lots of pink and geometric shapes and greens and yellows and blues.

As she busily tottered about her messy kitchen, seeing to the cats and the pot of steaming soup on the stove, she was talking to me, she was telling me wonderous and great things that would change my life. With her back to me, a large wooden spoon in her hand, slowly stirring her cauldron of soup, her words flowed. I was silent, and I listened.

The white haired goddess:

A woman was sitting on the floor a short distance from me, cross-legged, sitting so straight and tall, her back to me. I stood watching her, fascinated by a strange glow of light shining on her, illuminating her silhouette, casting a shimmer to her very long mane of silver hair.

I was in the presence of something very powerful and very sacred, and I knew that she had something important to tell me, possibly the most important thing I would ever hear. I leaned in, cocking my head to listen intently. Her soft voice rose then, sounding calm and smooth, gentle and clear.

She said: “Learn to control your mind.”

Embracing the Crone & Facing the Mirror

My goddess for the crone:

Baba Yaga

Origin: Slavic
Influences: the harvest, life cycles, fate, death,
AKA: Jadwiga – (Jaga/Jagusia/Jadzia)
Symbols: corn sheaf, broom, mortar and pestle

This goddess is birthed in the myths and legends found in fairytales. She lives in the forest, on ground that borders life and death. Baba Yaga is a wild woman and a goddess with an unpredictable nature. It’s said that if you come upon her in the woods, she will either eat you, give you advice, or put you to work. (Let’s hope you meet her on a good day.)

Baba Yaga doesn’t fit in with mundane society and what the majority would consider the norm. She presses the envelope, shall we say. This goddess is the ultimate individualist, birthed from the dark side of the crone. This old hag is often depicted flying through the night sky in a mortar, using the pestle to steer her ship.

Cerridwen

Origin: Welsh
Influences: transformation, rebirth, inspiration, regeneration, death, knowledge, shapeshifting
Symbols: the cauldron

As in so many of the goddesses of transformation, their ability and their myths are linked to the changing of the seasons and the natural cycle of birth and death that goes with the Earth’s natural occurrences.

Cerridwen most often comes to us at times in our life when we are facing a huge transformation and challenging changes. Most often, when something new is coming on the horizon, something old must die to make room for it. This sounds so ominous and scary, but most of the time, when you really think about it and all the upheavals and changes in your own life, the “death” of something almost always comes naturally, whether this be a relationship, a career, a lifestyle, etc. Most often, in my own life when this has happened, it feels like, “Oh ya’, it was about time.”

Cerridwen and her magical Cauldron of Transformation contains the energy needed to plant seeds of inspiration that allows us to fearlessly pursue change and chase our goals.

How to experience the crone:

  • Mentor a younger woman…

I’ve never mentored anyone, at least not in the intentional a kindly-hand-on-the-shoulder and a deep look in the eyes way with the words, “I am going to mentor you.” I’ve received emails over the years from people who felt as though I mentored them through my websites, blogs, and books, but I don’t know if that counts.

However, this section has made me think of all the ways other people have mentored me over the years, and I can probably assume that some of them had no idea of the impact they were making, the “mentoring” they were doing.

My sixth grade teacher, Iva Harrington… such a gorgeous middle-aged lady, full figured, beautifully groomed daily with her 1960s beads and matching earrings, her red lipstick, silk stockings, and dainty feet. She couldn’t have children of her own, so she adopted two daughters.

She was a “nurturer”, and she was drawn to children, especially children who might have a different road in life than others, and one of those children was me. It’s not a huge thing, my “difference”, from the other children, just that my teen-age parents chose not to raise me, so it was my paternal grandmother who did. The other children would refer to “Mom” when talking about their home life; I referred to “Grandma”. They were puzzled.

Of course, in the conventional world of the 1960s (the hippie flower child energy hadn’t reached South Dakota yet), I was “different”, and the kids in class were keenly aware of it.

Mrs. Harrington took extra time and attention to make sure I didn’t always feel different. I adored her. She mentored me, yes, she did, in whatever sense you want to view this word.

  • Start a scrapbook of your life…

I am anticipating many happy visits to Michael’s and Hobby Lobby to leisurely meander down the aisles filled with scrap booking goodies.

This is where I wish I could insert a visual video in a book. There’s just so much “stuff” popping up in my mind: colors, textures, paste ins, add-ons, frills and furbelows, frames, glue, glitter, and stickers.

My mother gave me a scrapbook created by her Aunt Grace, my great-aunt, who took a trip around the world in the 1950s. The whole venture cost her just over $2,000.00 all those decades ago. She was a spinster schoolteacher, and she created the most wonderful scrapbook of her adventures, complete with napkins, brochures, and menus from restaurants, also photos galore – my favorite is the tiny woman with a long gray braid wrapped around her head, sitting on a camel in Egypt ahead of the Pyramids; and another of her perched with a group on a bench ahead of the Taj Mahal in Agra India. It was so much fun to read what she had written as well, about the horrific car ride through Japan, with bumpy roads and miserable conditions, and her relief when they got to their hotel. On and on it goes. It’s a time capsule.

It's so much fun to turn the pages of this scrap book, and you can “feel” how much fun it was for Aunt Grace to create it.

Yea, start a scrapbook.

  • Write a bucket list…

You’re never too old to start a bucket list. If you’re still breathing, if you’re still on your feet and mobile, if you still get up every morning and wonder what you should do, start a bucket list – then act on it.

How do I know this?... from personal experience.

“First” things I’ve done after the age of 60…

flown on a plane
seen the ocean
traveled to the Grand Canyon
moved across country
visited Los Angeles
sold a house/bought a house

Yep, start a bucket list. I’m still working on mine. As the old saying goes… “I ain’t dead yet.”

I still want to…

visit Scotland and Ireland
write a fictional novel
take classes in psychology
apply for a PI license

  • Heal an estrangement…

If you can’t heal an existing estrangement, before you or the person you’re estranged from checks out, you will regret it; and in the spirit world, they may regret it as well, for an eternity.

Why is it so hard for one party or the other to be the first to extend the olive branch, the first to say, “I’m sorry”, or the first to say, “Let’s talk”?

I was estranged from my mother when she passed, so much so that my half-sister and her dad, my stepfather, never informed me of my mother’s death. It was only through the reaching out of one of my cousins that I had never met that I learned of her passing.

My mother, who did not raise me, came into my life when I was in my early forties, already an established wife and home-schooling mother of seven children. Since that time, we have been estranged since my youngest child was five years old, and that child was seventeen at the time of my mother’s passing.

The reasons for the estrangement are mostly lost in the fog of time and seem rather silly now, but it had to do with my parents’ disapproval of my life-style choices and the way in which I chose to raise my children. I put my foot down, knowing that the results could well be I would never see my mother again, and I was right.

Do I regret my decision? Not really. I don’t regret setting healthy boundaries and maintaining them for the welfare of my family. I could not revert to the lost child my mother seemed to want or needed to encompass at that time. I could not revert to the vision she must have held of me in her mind. I was already a middle-aged woman with an established life when we connected.

I do regret the obstinacy, the lack of empathy, the incapability of accepting boundaries, and the lack of respect that made a reconciliation impossible, and I often wonder if my mother regrets that now, in the afterlife. I am inclined to believe she does – or did, and I do believe that her spirit reconnected with me after her passing and made things right.

It’s all good now.

But don’t do what we did. Heal an estrangement while both parties are alive, while you can still look each other in the eye and share a hug, while you can enjoy morning coffee together, while you can share holidays and still enjoy fun times on this earth in the physical plane.

Better late than never.

  • Do something contradictory to your nature…

I wasn’t born in the mid-west, but I spent my entire life there, and for my entire life I have always felt I was not where I was meant to be. It was a strange and disjointed feeling.

Unexpectedly, while standing in the shadows of senior citizenship, I met Bob. We had only known each other for a very short time when that little voice popped into my head. You know, that disembodied voice we’re told to listen to. It was barely perceptible at first, a whisper. It was observant and opinionated, and it was a consciousness that pointed out various discrepancies in our lives at the time.

This unusual phenomenon, mixed with a lifetime of dissatisfaction in my location, came along with some opportunities to travel and explore other parts of the country, to experience new places with awesome and intriguing ambience.

Finally, one morning, that little voice in my head popped out of my mouth, and I said, innocently enough:

“Would you like to move to Arizona?”

The answer was “yes”, and so we did.

Soul Retrieval

Soul retrieval is a shamanic practice that involves returning a separated part of the soul to the core soul. It's believed that trauma can cause soul parts to split off and flee.

What happens in a soul retrieval?

The key goal of soul retrieval is to bring back the parts of ourselves that we have lost through negative life experiences and to ultimately bring ourselves back into a state of balance and wholeness. Soul loss is a spiritual survival mechanism, where the soul fragments, some of which separate from the energy body, in order for the individual to cope better with pain.

How do you know if you need soul retrieval?

There can be many different signs of soul loss. These can include a sense or feeling of: somehow being incomplete; that something is "missing"; numbness or flatness; feeling like you're just going through the motions; fatigue; weakness; anxiety; depression; and emptiness. When unresolved, from the shamanic point of view, soul loss can can evolve into more serious physical, emotional, or mental illness.

What can cause soul loss?
  • Any form of abuse, e.g., sexual, emotional, physical, or mental
  • An event of prolonged grief, pain, and fear that made you feel helpless or impotent
  • Deep-seated addictions, e.g., substance dependency, gambling, eating
  • A near-death, or an out-of-body altered states of consciousness experience (such as an ego death)
  • Being forced to act against your morals or values
  • An experience of intense rejection or abandonment
  • Witnessing the unexpected death of someone
  • A sudden and shocking accident
  • Entering a relationship without strong personal boundaries (resulting in an unhealthy relationship and losing your personal power)

A soul retrieval exercise:

Fill a glass of water and hold it in both hands. Focus your intention on the glass of water and say three times: “Everything I have taken from others, I put into this water." Take the water outside and pour it onto the ground, knowing that everyone stands on the Earth and all things can be returned to them this way.

Next, refill the glass of water and focus your intention on the water again. This time repeat to yourself three times: “Everything that has been taken from me, I now reclaim.” Drink the water and give thanks.

Soul retrieval exercises can be done daily.

When soul retrieval is practiced daily, these transformative practices can help you:
  • Overcome difficult life challenges
  • Clear negative emotions and cultivate positive qualities
  • Revitalize your personal and professional relationships
  • Feel more engaged and productive at work
  • Experience healing on all levels -- physical, emotional, and energetic
  • Bring happiness and well-being to others
How long does it take for a soul retrieval to work?

Once the lost parts of your soul have been retrieved, it can take time to fully integrate them into your being. The healing process may continue for days, weeks, or even months after the session.

How will you know if soul retrieval has worked?
  • You’ll recover from traumatic experiences
  • You’ll be reconnected to your true self
  • You’ll have a clear sense of purpose
  • Heart energies will be opened
  • Chakras will be balanced
  • It will become easier to release the past
  • You’ll be more willing to forgive
  • You’ll be released from being “stuck”
  • It will be easier for your body to heal itself
  • You’ll feel that it is easier for you to be joyful and love other people
  • You’ll have emotional and mental clarity
  • You’ll establish healthy boundaries
  • You’ll feel connected to the divine and all living things
  • You’ll have an expanded consciousness
  • You'll be connected to spiritual guidance
  • You’ll experience more comfort, courage, and faith

Keys to Unlocking the Real You

The following is an excerpt from my book, Spiritual Awakening, from Chapter 3:  Preparing for Your New Spiritual Life... Chpt 3, exercises, activities, and explorations, which begins on page 106.  If you don't have a copy of this book, you can purchase one at Amazon, in print or kindle.

"This book is written to help you explore and experiment and discover a spirituality that you might not even be aware of. This book is here to help you embrace your inner pagan, to reconnect with your ancient roots and an earthy spirituality based in nature and magic and inspiration."

It is my wish that this beautiful and inspiring handbook & journal becomes your companion as you explore spirituality and seek enlightenment.

Opening your energy centers

Your energy centers are your Chakras, which for our purpose includes the seven main centers that run along the course of your spine and influence not only your physical body but your mental, spiritual, and emotional state as well. When these energy centers are open and working properly, they are in a constant circular motion. When they are blocked, or otherwise not working properly, they can cause problems spiritually, mentally, and physically.

Root chakra: located in the perineum at the base of your spine. The root chakra affects our physical sense of well-being; your basic needs for survival -- food, water, shelter; your sense of safety, the animalistic flight or fight instinct.

To open this chakra

1. Wear red. Put a red lightbulb in a lamp and bathe in it; paint something red – a chair, a table, a steppingstone in the garden, a wall in your house, a small stone to keep on your nightstand.

2. Dance, walk, hike, run. Do something that uses your physical body and exerts energy. Mow the lawn, or rake leaves; go for a bicycle ride; ride a horse; carry heavy stones for a new garden path; help a friend move by lugging boxes for them. Use your body and relish the physical sensation of physical exertion, embrace the sweat and the feel of your muscles in action.

3. Take a shower. Luxuriate in the feel of water coursing over your physical body, washing it, cleansing it, clearing it. Find joy in the feeling of rejuvenation.

Sacral chakra: located in the lower abdomen. If you’re a woman, it would be about over the womb, if a male, over the prostate gland. The sacral chakra affects our sense of sexuality and our ability to freely acknowledge and embrace the idea of “pleasure”.

To open this chakra

1. Carry or wear in jewelry orange stones, like carnelian. Eat orange foods – carrots, pumpkin, oranges; have a glass of orange juice; wear orange clothing; plant orange flowers.

2. Do something that gives you a great sense of pleasure, whether this is eating a banana split, heating up the bedroom with your significant other, or spending a weekend alone at a lake cabin. But the thing is… do something that gives you great pleasure while not feeling guilty about it. It’s okay to indulge your appetites.

3. Do some hip opening exercises or yoga postures, stretching, flexing, gently moving and loosening up this part of your body. Massage it. Yes, that’s right. Animals also have chakras, energy centers along their spines as well. Have you ever wondered exactly why your dog or cat loves to have its tummy rubbed? It will have the same effect on you.

Solar plexus: located about two inches below your naval. The solar plexus holds the place where our self-esteem is grown and nurtured. It contains our creative energy. It’s all about how we express ourselves and how we feel about ourselves. It is where our self-confidence is born, and where we are most vulnerable to negative energies. This is where our healthy ego resides.

To open this chakra

1. Wear yellow. Plant yellow flowers, carry yellow stones, like citrine or topaz. Buy something yellow, gift something yellow to someone who needs a lift. Eat something yellow, like lemon drops, lemon meringue pie, lemon pudding, or yellow apples.

2. Start a journal. This involves expressing your inner most feelings. This will only be seen by you, so don’t hesitate to open up and pour forth all those things you don’t talk about with anyone else. It’s an outlet for great creativity. Paint on its pages, use different colored inks, or make the pages a collage. It allows you to explore your ego and work on how you feel about yourself and your life: What do I love? What bothers me and why? What makes me anxious? What makes me feel nothing, and is this significant? What makes me feel strong? What tickles my imagination? What makes me incredible and unique?

3. Do something empowering, whatever this may be to you: start a group; set a goal; confront an issue; end something; begin something; try a new venture, something that scares you, whether this is rock climbing, or dating, or writing a book.

Heart chakra: located in the center of your chest. The heart chakra connects us with feelings of love and compassion. It’s this chakra that gives us the ability to love and the empathy for true compassion. If this chakra is blocked, the most notable effect will be the inability to successfully ignite or maintain relationships, all kinds of relationships.

To open this chakra

1. Wear green. Paint your nails green, buy a green eyeshadow; plant pots of “green” things – English ivy, ferns, philodendrons; mow the grass; buy green sheets for your bed and snuggle down; eat green things: lettuce, kiwi, string beans, peas, or mint ice cream.

2. If you’re in love, but you have never said these words to a particular person, do that. Assuming that you’ve been seeing each other and establishing a relationship, assuming that you either know the other person is in love with you or they have told you so, assuming that you have not been able to bring yourself to say it yet. Do that.

Whether you plan a detailed romantic evening, or you find yourself in the middle of a vendor’s hotdog stand on a street corner, look your person in the eye and say, “I love you.” That big swelling sensation in your chest will be your heart chakra, revving up and spinning wildly, finally open.

3. Do an act of kindness for someone, human or creature, who does not expect it and have not asked for it. Do it quietly, perhaps anonymously, without fanfare, without expecting any acknowledgment at all. That big swelling sensation in your chest will be your heart chakra, revving up and spinning wildly, finally open.

Throat chakra: located at the base of the throat, in the hollow. The throat chakra is responsible for communication, whether our ability to communicate with others, internal communication with ourselves, or communication with Spirit. With the energy of this chakra, we seek truth, and we learn to respond as an individual to our community.

To open this chakra

1. Wear turquois or light blue. Wear it as clothing, or a piece of jewelry. Plant blue flowers; paint your nails blue; buy a blue throw rug for your house, or a blue blanket for your bed. Take pictures of blue things.

2. Sing. If you can’t hold a tune, that’s okay. Sing when you’re alone in the shower and you’re all alone in the house. You (and Spirit) will be the only one to hear you, and you will be opening up and energizing your throat chakra.

3. Write a letter to someone you haven’t seen or spoken to in a long time. Write a letter to someone that you are estranged from. Write a letter to someone you’ve always wanted to talk to but never had the courage. You don’t have to actually send this letter to anyone, unless you want to. But you will be opening up the channels of communication, and your throat chakra as well.

Third eye chakra: located between your eyebrows and just slightly above them. The third eye chakra is the center for your intuition, your psychism, for dreams and visions. This is where that “little voice in your head” emanates from, the one you should listen to.

To open this chakra

1. Wear indigo. Place an indigo sticky jewel between your eyebrows and just slightly above them. Eat purple popsicles; wear a purple sweater; buy a divination tool – a deck of tarot cards, or a pendulum, or something else that appeals to your intuitive instincts.

2. Start a dream journal. Leave it on your nightstand and record your dreams when you awake in the morning, as soon as you can, lest the memory evaporate, as dreams do. If you say you don’t remember your dreams, you will if you begin recording impressions that visited you in your sleep, the smallest of impressions will be a good place to start: the vague feeling of a place, an animal, a food, a physical sensation. When your third eye chakra is cleared and open. You will remember your dreams.

3. Don’t block your daydreams. Don’t deny yourself this amazingly natural tool and instinct. You are not “wasting time” or “spacing out”. This is often your own intuition trying to communicate with you, your third eye chakra working, trying desperately to tell you something you need to know, to show you something you need to see. Allow yourself the luxury of daydreams. They are a necessity. They are so much more than you can imagine.

Crown chakra: located above the crown of your head. It connects you to universal wisdom and Spirit. It is what defines your spirituality, connecting you to a higher consciousness, enabling you to experience enlightenment, driving you to define life questions and seek answers. It drives our quest to connect with God and Goddess.

To open this chakra

1. Wear indigo. Bathe yourself in the deep dark purple of the cosmos. Wear or carry deep purple flowers, buy a purple thermos and drink your water from it daily, eat purple plums and eggplant, get a purple pillowcase to lay your head upon at night.

2. Make a list of three forms of spiritual practices that you know little, if anything, about. Now go and learn what they’re all about: google it; find a book; talk to someone who is a practitioner; find a group, attend a meeting, service, ritual, etc.; perform an act of spirituality, whether it means lighting a candle, composing a spell or prayer, or setting an intention; watch a sunrise, or a sunset, and think about all the sunrises and sunsets that took place before your existence, and before this very day. And now, at this moment, you are watching it with spiritual awareness.

3. Sit in a quiet and serene spot, whether this is the middle of your bed, or under the trees of a lush and magical forest. Ask the universe questions, then be still and listen for the answers.

Quantum physics tells us that nothing that is observed is unaffected by the observer. That statement, from science, holds an enormous and powerful insight. It means that everyone sees a different truth, because everyone is creating what they see.
