My Personal Experiences with The Clairs ~ both amazing & creepy

 

My experiences with The Clairs...

Clairvoyance:

My earliest experience with clairvoyance and a vision was when I was 12-years-old, in 1969.  I've often related the story about my uncle who passed away on Easter Sunday of that year and the odd vision I had of him only hours before his death.

As the family was gathered in the living-room, my uncle stretched out on the couch, digesting a delicious Sunday meal, I watched in amazement as the the couch became a coffin, and the back of it, the open lid, closed over my uncle.  I was shocked and quickly scanned the faces of the adults in the room, realizing that no one else had apparently seen this incredible thing.

I also used to receive visions that appeared in my head as white chalk words (in cursive) on a blackboard.  They were always amazingly accurate and took me totally by surprise.  This continued for 8 to 10 years, when it abruptly stopped, just as abruptly as it had started.  I was a bit disappointed, it was a unique experience, and I rather enjoyed it.

One of the most moving and amazing blackboard visions still sticks with me.  This was years ago, when I was still married to ML.  His son called, and I answered the phone.  He wanted to know if his dad was there, because he would like to talk to him, but his dad was not home at the time.  That's okay, he assured me, he would call again later.  As I hung up on this call, the vision came.  I knew why my step-son had called.  This is literally what I saw in my head:

It was so exciting I couldn't contain myself.  When ML got home I told him his son had called and that his son was going to tell him that he's getting married.  "Act surprised," I said, beaming.

Clairsentience:

One of the most memorable and recent experiences I've had with clairsentience is an experience that I actually included in my last book, The Divine Me, on page 61.  The short version... I was at a stop light at an intersection and when the light turned green, I simply knew I should not go, and my body confirmed this by freezing up.  Once the rampant speeding car barreled though this intersection, the speeding car that would have broadsided us if I had been making my turn, I knew that it was safe to continue, and so did my body.

Clairsentience works overtime for me when I'm doing readings with a deck of tarot cards.  They seem to be a trigger for me, and one glance can reveal things about my querent that I just "know".  If people really were aware of how revealing this can be, there might be some who would choose not to get readings at all.  And I've often wondered if it works like this for other readers, and if not, what are they picking up and how?

This happened one time when I was at a Scooter's Coffee Shop doing a reading for a lady.  She was 30-something, blond, and looked so quiet and nice and slightly worried and sad.  I laid my first a row of cards out on the table and I said (in a discreet whisper), "Someone is having an affair.", me thinking it must be her husband or boyfriend, what do I know.  She vehemently denied it, "Oh, no, nope, no."  I kept telling her "Yes, someone is having an affair."

Probably in desperation by now, she leans over the table, cups her hands around her mouth and in a stage whisper says, "Me, it's me, I'm having an affair."

Clairaudience:

I receive this type of psychic experience during readings as a voice inside my head, and I've experienced it at other times, also inside my head, when meeting new people, visiting new places, or preparing to do life-changing things, like signing contracts, etc.  The one time that I did experience clairaudience outside my head was a terrifying incident when I was alone in the house in my upstairs bedroom, having just turned in for the night.

I lay there in the dark on my right side, with my eyes closed, when I felt a hot breath on my left ear and heard the whispered words:  "Call me if you need me.".  The voice was a familiar voice, it was the voice of someone I knew.  However, this was not them, but something mimicking them, and I was fully aware of this and terrified.  

I closed my eyes tighter and started repeating every positive spiritual mantra and prayer that I could think of, including the Hail Mary.  This seemed to anger whatever this was, and I felt my bed (a large heavy antique bedstead) raise up in the air for a foot or two and then drop.  I kept my eyes shut tight and kept repeating the mantras and prayer.  Eventually, I must have fallen asleep.  

When I woke up in the morning, I actually looked at all four legs of the bed to see if I could tell whether they had been physically moved.  Everything looked normal, but it was months before I slept in this room again, or even slept on the second floor.

Burn candles of black; burn incense of mimosa, hemp, and comfrey; carry in your pockets or adorn your body with black onyx, Apache tears, and obsidian.

Let’s work on… making ourselves feel safe, in whatever capacity this entails; taking extra precautions to secure our home; laying a line of defense against unexpected negativity; drawing boundaries that may be difficult but necessary to our wellbeing.

Kali ~ Hindu

Kali is the banshee screeching warrior goddess, the goddess of death and doom. The black goddess of revenge and bloodlust. But you gotta’ love her. It’s her energy that will fight to protect the innocent; it’s her energy that’s needed for retribution and accountability for the bad guys.

As the myth goes, Kali was born when she emerged from the forehead of the Goddess Durga and is believed to be the manifestation of that goddess’s anger. No wonder Kali has an attitude.

The most notable story I found on Kali involved her husband, Lord Shiva. After Kali was called upon to save the world by going on a rampage against a demon army led by Raktabija, she had herself so wrapped in murderous energy that she couldn’t stop herself and began destroying any living thing within her reach.

To cease this frenzied murder spree, her husband Shiva laid down in her path, blocking her way. Apparently, he thought that this would stop her. Silly idea. She was blinded to rationality and restraint, and she wildly started stomping the sh… er, bejeebers out of her own husband.

Oops.

Upon suddenly realizing her terrible mistake, overcome with remorse, laced with a wee bit of embarrassment, it’s said that she stuck out her bloody tongue. In some versions, it’s stated that she pulled her tongue out, either way, it makes for quite a visual.

From the chapter: Facing the Mirror ~ How Do You Connect with Yourself

• Be aware of changes in your energy

Yes, learn to do this. It could save your life.

I was at a stop light in Fremont, Nebraska, southbound on Broad St. I was driving, my now ex-husband was sitting in the passenger seat. All of the sudden, yep, there it was, that “change” in energy. It’s so hard to describe because it can be so subtle. My reaction to it was that I froze. The red light turned green, and still, I sat there, frozen. My ex was shouting at me now, “Move, go!! The light is green!”

 
Nope, my body wouldn’t budge.

Within seconds, a car went speeding through a red light in front of us, west bound on 23rd St., at 60 or 70 miles an hour. If I would’ve been making my left hand turn onto this street, it would have broadsided us.

After this vehicle whooshed through this intersection, yep, there it was again, that weird change in energy. I was no longer frozen. I was also miffed at the man in the passenger seat and his attitude, so I turned to him calmly as he sat there now in shocked silence, open-mouthed, and I said, “Okay, now it’s time to move.”

Tarot for Grownups ~ that's what it means, it's not for kids

 

I have authored three tarot books, and these three tarot books are very different, each one uniquely focused on an aspect of the tarot that sets it apart from the other books.  One of these books is apparently somewhat controversial:  Tarot for Grownups.  I remember offering a copy of this book to a woman who is in the new-age magazine publishing business, anxious to get her opinion on it, and when she finally messaged me back, the email was one sentence that said:  "I don't get it."

That was disappointing, as well as a little confusing, as my intentions for this book were quite clear.

I had read an astrology book titled "The Dark Side of the Zodiac", and wow, was it ever.  I loved it!  We all know that Libra isn't always about beauty and love, sometimes she's a whore; and Aquarius isn't all new-agey and quirky and unique, sometimes she's a cold bitch.  It's true, with all twelve signs, there is another side we were ignoring.  I loved reading this book, it took reality and threw it all over the pages so it spilled out in recognizable personalities -- the good, the bad, and especially the ugly.  It was refreshing!  

So I decided to do the same thing with tarot, and I must say, I thought I was actually pretty gentle about it, because I could've been way more blunt -- way more. Yes, really.

Now, the negative side of the tarot is not usually a subject for focus, it's actually discouraged.  It's mostly glossed over and ignored in the fluffy bunny white-light feel-good tarot community, but the tarot has a dark side, and so do we.  I was tired of all the hoopla and attention being put on always being positive and upbeat and avoiding anything even remotely negative connected to the querent or the cards.  Well, this attitude doesn't begin to approach real life, and this isn't doing your querent any good.  Sometimes people need to hear the truth, even if it's nitty-gritty, kind of like a napkin with coffee stains on it.  At least they can clearly see where the issues are and what needs attention to straighten out their energy and their lives.

People don't come to have a reading when their life is all hunky dory and their world is coming up roses.  They come for a reading when they are in trouble, threatened, confused, vulnerable and sometimes hurting.  They come for a reading when they need help, and they need some honest advice.  They want answers, they don't want shiny new-age euphemisms.  

So, voila... Tarot for Grownups.

I can always tell when someone has written a book review without thoroughly reading the book, especially when they get all high-horse and blunder the review.  Case in point:

There was a ranting review left at Amazon complaining about the book being "all dark".  The reviewer stated:  "...it's all very well selling this book as a no nonsense, cut-and-dried kind of book but I felt that the author had a very negative approach with no positive traits in her descriptions of people."

Excuse me, Sarah.  You didn't read the book, did you?  Come on, you can tell me, you glossed through it, didn't you?

• On page 95, paragraph two:  

"In the section of this book identifying the court cards, my intention was to concentrate on the dark side, because it's this side that we so often need more insight into and it's this side that causes all the problems; but for the purpose of choosing a significator, we also have to recognize the positive aspects of our own personality, and I'm going to give you a brief description here of the lighter side, the softer edge, to the court cards."

And then I do just that. 

Today's Bonus Readings ~ Letting go, shutting up, cooperating

The Ex-wife, The Soon to be New Wife ~ and Mr. Knight of Wands

 

This reading exposes a family in crisis -- there's the ex-wife and the soon to be new wife, and there's that man between them, Mr. Knight of Wands. There's also a gaggle of children caught up in the middle of this fiasco. I believe that the ex-wife may be using the children as a manipulative tool. I believe Mr. Knight has screwed up by trying to keep a foot firmly planted in two camps -- and how well does that ever work? This Knight of Wands is going to have to figure out exactly what his Priorities are, and he's going to have to set Boundaries.
