Admittedly, I took a brief lull the past few days with the writing of my 10th book, but I am back at it now in full force.  We're up to 20,181 words and 105 pages.  Basically, each chapter is divided into two sections --  1) there's a section on the goddesses for each chapter that includes the story behind her along with more insights, rituals, and ways to connect with her energy (the goddess and the heavenly bodies; the goddess in every day; the goddess in every month; the elemental connection; the goddess in YOU); 2) and then there's a very personal section with each chapter titled "Facing the Mirror" (what is your greatest strength; what about the darker side of your nature; how do you connect with yourself; how do you connect with your spiritual side; how do you connect with the physical you).

I was somewhat amazed, and more than a little taken aback, when I looked into the myths and stories surrounding Inanna. She’s rather daunting actually. She’s a goddess obsessed with gaining power and unwilling to face the consequences for her actions. It’s also said that she’s promiscuous, vicious, and can even be cruel.

One legend goes that she deliberately gets her father, Anu, drunk so that she can steal from him the figurative concepts of wisdom and culture while he’s passed out.

The story of her courtship with a young shepherd, Demuzi, was filled with great draughts of romantic verbiage, especially about “plowing her vulva” and who was going to do this and how it must be done:

My vulva, the horn,

The Boat of Heaven

Is full of eagerness like the young moon.

My untilled land lies fallow

She goes on to marry Dumuzi, the shepherd boy, and he happily wallows on the consort’s throne, drinking in and soaking up all the riches and treasure of the royal lifestyle that she, Inanna, had built, and plowing her vulva, I would imagine.

Then her sister’s husband dies, and she decides to journey to the underworld, where her sister Ereshkigal rules. After she makes this journey, she becomes trapped in the underworld, and she’s told that the only way she can leave and return to the world of the living is if she finds someone to take her place.

During her imposed confinement in the underworld, Inanna was able to see the world of the living she left behind and how her absence affected those close to her. To her surprise, and probably dismay, she saw that her husband Dumuzi had not mourned her at all but had gladly taken over the reins of the throne and was soaking up the glory of his new position.

“Him”, she told her captors. “I give you Dumuzi to take my place.” And so, it was. Inanna returned to the world of the living.

Understandably, she was upset with her husband, who apparently was more interested in the material things and powerful position that his marriage to Inanna provided him, rather than the love and adoration of his wife. And I think, with that sentence, I have just stumbled upon the moral of this story, which serves as fair warning for other prospective unscrupulous mates who are looking for something other than love.

I think Inanna made the right decision. “Burn in hell… er, Hel, Dumuzi.”

The Checklist

• Angry Outbursts

Everyone gets angry at times. It’s a normal and natural occurrence for every human being. However, how you express your anger is key to healthy relationships. So, if your partner seems to have outbursts of anger for no apparent reason (or over small things), then that is a sign.

• Overly Dramatic

Again, we all have things happen in our lives that we don’t like. But a lot of people just deal with it, try to change things, and move on with their lives. An unstable person, however, will turn their life into unending drama when they don’t need to.

• Gaslighting

Gaslighting is psychologically manipulating another person into questioning their own sanity. For example, if they told you they would do something, they will deny ever saying it when you bring it up. Then, you wonder if they really said it or if you just imagined it. But that is just one example.

• Mood Swings

It’s normal for people’s moods to change. No one can be happy 100% of the time, right? But for most, the change in mood is relatively minor. It’s usually dependent on something outside of themselves. But an unstable person could have extreme mood swings for no good reason.

• Inappropriate Anger

When most people get angry, it’s usually at someone who is close to them. That makes sense, because those are the people with whom we spend the most time. But if your partner frequently yells at a server in a restaurant or other random people, then that is not healthy.

• Lack of Empathy

Empathy is the ability to feel what another person feels and to see things from their perspective – not just your own. Emotionally unstable people are generally unable to do this. They only see their own side of a situation.

• Tries to “One up” You

They always seem to be in a power struggle with you. For example, if you had a bad day, they will tell you how theirs was worse. Or, if you are having an argument, they will always try to gain the power to “win” and make you lose.

• Inability to Admit When They Are Wrong

Emotionally unstable people can’t admit when they are wrong. In fact, admitting they are wrong is a threat to their psychological well-being. It shakes the core of themselves and their self-identity. So, they will never admit “defeat,” even if they secretly know they are wrong.

• Sense of Entitlement

They think they deserve everything, and nothing needs to be earned. For example, they demand that you do things for them because they think it’s their right to do so.

• Dealing With Problems Irrationally

The best way to deal with problems in relationships is to have both people on the same team, and for them to come up with a mutual solution. However, emotionally unstable people are unable to do this because they only look at things emotionally, not logically.

• Too Intense

The intensity with which they express their emotions is extreme. They don’t tend to be moderate in any of their interactions. This may generate a feeling of walking on eggshells around them because you are afraid of their intense communication.

• Blaming Others

Unstable people don’t ever look in the mirror and take personal responsibility for their actions. Instead, they always point fingers at other people and blame them for everything that is wrong in their lives.

How to Deal With It

1. Step Back and Observe

Ask yourself if you did anything wrong. Because they tend to gaslight other people (see above), emotionally unstable people have you question your actions and sanity. Be objective, and observe them and yourself. Did you really do anything wrong? Probably not.

2. Get Other People’s Perspectives

Tell your stories to trusted loved ones. Tell them what happens in your interactions, and get their opinion about whether or not your partner is overacting, or if you actually did something wrong. Someone on the outside will likely have a clearer view of what’s going on.

3. Don’t Play Into Their Drama

As the saying goes, “It takes two to tango.” In other words, someone can’t play a game by themselves. They need another person to participate. But don’t give into their drama. Refuse to engage in it and walk away.

4. Walk Away When They Attack You

If and when they verbally, mentally, or emotionally attack you, just leave the conversation. Don’t allow them to do that to you! Demand that they talk to you nicely, and don’t accept anything less than that. If they can’t give you respect, then end the conversation until they can.

5. Demand Respect

Remind them that how they are speaking to you is unacceptable. One very important thing to remember is this: you teach people how to treat you. Demand that they treat you with respect.

6. Stay Calm

Don’t get sucked into their emotional storms. It’s easy to do because you want to defend yourself, but this just plays into their drama. Try to stay calm and rational because that’s the only way people can talk in a healthy manner.

7. Don’t Fall for Gaslighting

When they try to gaslight you, refuse to accept it. Take notes on things that they tell you and what they do, so you have a record. When they try to deny things to make you look crazy, pull out your record and show them the truth.

8. Suggest Therapy

Many times, an emotionally unstable person cannot get better on their own. Going to a trained therapist or psychologist is something that they should probably do – both on their own, and perhaps as a couple as well.

9. If All Else Fails, End the Relationship

Unfortunately, not all relationships can survive – even under the best of circumstances. If you have tried all you can to fix your relationship and make it healthy with someone who is emotionally unstable, sometimes it’s just time to end the relationship and find someone else that you are more compatible with.

Final Thoughts...

Being in a relationship with an emotionally unstable person is never easy. You feel like you never know how they are going to act or what they’ll say next. But that’s no way to live. Everyone deserves to be in a happy, healthy relationship. Don’t forget to love yourself enough to put yourself and your happiness first!

An Unexpected Opportunity ~ close your eyes and be still

There is an amazing (and perhaps unexpected) opportunity that has presented itself to you.  You might find yourself engulfed in thought and speculation about this, going over all the "what ifs" and endless possibilities that come with this opportunity.  You're spending a lot of time dwelling on it, but that's okay, because the decision you make could be life altering. 

The cards say, "Close your eyes and be still.  You have a "gift", so use it now... what do you see?"

Follow your intuition, your gut instinct, that little voice in your head.  They all speak the truth.

• The Hierophant

You find yourself laughing at the synchronicity of it all.  The opportunity you so wished for, so longed for, maybe thought would never present itself, and there it was, all the time... following you as you traveled through daily life.

• The Hanged Man

You find yourself mentally stretching and languishing in the new-found sense of freedom that has presented itself to you... through this opportunity, no doubt.  There is a sense of freedom from prior obligations, a new-found sense of freedom from personal restrictions.

Life feels free flowing, spontaneous, magical, and absolutely sound and stable all at the same time.

You find yourself in a place where your mind, your thoughts, your creativity has no limitations and expands to fill the universe around you.  This is a tremendous period of growth on so many levels.  Wisdom approaches, gives you a nod of recognition and a sly smile.  "Once you know, you can never unknow," he says.

In the end there is a new purpose, new work, new goals, a new focus.  This all sends you in a new direction, on a new journey, towards more exploration and a far distant future horizon.  What you see in the distance is your destiny.

Missing Person Case ~ Baby Lisa

It’s been a long time since I’ve done one of these readings, and I can’t really explain what prompted me to do this one, other than it’s a compulsion that often feels that it comes from somewhere other than me. In my book, Tarot: A Witch’s Journey, I included several missing person/criminal case readings; some have been solved and others have not. I’ve never publicly posted a reading for a case that was still open and on-going in the glare of the public eye, so this is a new venture for me. I think the biggest deterrent to doing readings like this for most psychics is the fear of being ‘wrong’. Psychic readings are not, after all, an exact science. But as I’ve said many times before– I’ve never regretted anything I’ve said in any psychic reading; but I have regretted many things that I left unsaid.

I am aware of this case, but I have not been following it closely in the news, so I don’t know what’s been found or where, who all the characters are in the scenario, or where the case stands right now. I have not attempted to look at the information that ‘s come to me during this reading in a logical manner; I simply wrote down what came to mind, what showed up in the cards, and the answers that I received with my pendulum. I simply pass along the information received, I don’t try to explain it.

Missing Person Reading  11-8-2011

Disappeared: October 3, 2011

Six cards were drawn, laid in pyramid fashion, i.e. three cards at the top in the first row, two cards beneath that, and a single card at the bottom. I call this my ‘window’, and this gives me a basic foundational look at the overall picture. To expand this information, that is to learn more from any one of the cards laid in this original spread, I will remove this card from the pyramid and draw three more cards for it. This is the general way I begin a reading.

• First impressions:

As I begin turning the cards with my left hand, I have a pen in my right hand and I begin jotting down whatever comes into my mind, whether it makes any sense or not, often I am not even looking at the paper I’m writing on, but stay focused on the cards. The result is that when I refer to this sheet of paper, I will see things written all over it in a helter-skelter fashion. The idea is not to think or dwell on ideas or impressions, but just to jot them down as quickly as they pop into my head, the reason being that my sub-conscious thought process is much more aware than that part of my mind that deals with logic.

The following narrative is my first impression of these cards:

Ran away/charging to the rescue/thundering- pounding/arrogant & loyal/a waning moon/a leather belt/a crossroads- water- butterflies/a great burden or weight/a woman who does not see- denial/blind/denial/a pile of logs or wood- feathers-reptiles/waiting by the water/reptiles-wood-feathers/the mother/earth/garden/poppies/logs-trees-timber/a stone barrier/butterflies-moths-water/death- cut, stabbed, pierced

• Second impressions:

After jotting down the first impression of each individual card, I’ll look at the pyramid as a whole and see what type of information, if any, unfolds. Most of the time, the cards will tell a story:

The first thing that comes to mind is that two individuals are involved in Baby Lisa’s disappearance, and these individuals share a deep connection or partnership of some kind. The ten of swords, in my readings, is the closest that comes to any card for showing a death. At any rate, it’s never a good sign and generally smacks of foreboding dark energy. The female character involved in Lisa’s disappearance either acted rashly, not thinking things through clearly; or she was not the major participant in this event, but rather was more of an accomplice. Her main contribution to this scenario right now is her lack of will to reveal needed information.

At this point, I’m going to draw more cards for some of the original cards first laid to expand the story:

Queen of Pentacles

7/wands ®………The Magician………Page/pentacles ®

The Queen, I feel, represents the female involved in Lisa’s disappearance, and I believe that in this case, it may be a maternal figure. This is a woman who feels caught between two strong male figures, which leaves her with a sense of helplessness in some aspect and an inability to act on her own, either because of intimidation, the desire to protect someone, or fear.

The following cards– the magician and the page of pentacles seems to represent two separate male figures, and one of them possesses more control in this situation than the other. One has more power and a dominant position within the triangle, and one is more reckless and questionable– both in character and behavior. The page indicates that one of these male figures may be considerably younger than the other.

The seven of wands indicates conflict within this group, which can include power plays, disagreements, and feelings of defensiveness.

The Tower ®………3/cups ®………The Sun ®

These cards indicate that there was some cataclysmic event which most likely led to the injury or death of Baby Lisa. The cards point to three individuals being involved, though it’s not clear whether these individuals were all involved together at the moment of the event, or whether someone came into this scenario after the fact. The cards do leave me with the impression that whatever this horrific event was, it may have been an accident at the beginning, leading to a conspiracy to hide the fact afterwards.

The reading above offers a scenario, along with a cast of possible suspects or characters connected to the story. However, the fact remains that someone is physically missing and more detailed information is required in order to find this person. Tarot cards don’t provide this type of information for me. In order to gather more detailed data through psychic means, I used a map and my pendulum.

This first pendulum reading done here, is done with a rough hand-drawn map that gives me perimeters stemming from the original location, in this case the house and yard, and gradually broadening out mile by mile from the central spot. I take it one step at a time, beginning in the center of the map, which in this case is the house, and moving in an ever widening circle, asking precise questions as I go. The four cardinal points of the compass are also indicated on this map– north, east, south, and west.

• 1. Is Baby Lisa physically within the house?

No

• 2. Is Baby Lisa physically within the garage?

Yes. The pendulum indicated that evidence could be found in this area. On my hand-drawn map, I added a ‘garage’ onto the east side of the building, though in reality, I’m unfamiliar with the house and grounds. I just wanted to be able to exclude a garage or attached garage, if there is one; and I inadvertently add this attachment to the east side of the main location (the house).

• 3. Is Baby Lisa physically in the yard, or on the grounds, that goes with this house?

Yes. Apparently there is evidence that can be found in this area. I haven’t been following this case closely, so I’m not sure what may already have been discovered, if anything, or where, so I want to narrow this general question down to be more specific about the direction within the yard where this evidence can be found.

• 4. Is Baby Lisa physically located in the north side of the yard?

No

• 5. Is Baby Lisa physically located in the west side of the yard?

No

• 6. Is Baby Lisa physically located in the south side of the yard?

No

• 7. Is Baby Lisa physically located in the east side of the yard?

Yes. Once again, the pendulum gave a positive response when held over the map on the east side of the main location, which is the house. I don’t know if there is a garage on this side of the building, but if there is, or if there is an outbuilding of some kind located here, it’s indicated that evidence can be found in this location. If the authorities have already searched this area, which I presume they have, I would tell them to look again.

Contracted Work for the Writer ~ this is how it's done

 

I am very pleased with how all of my books are doing, how they've been received, and most of the reviews and endorsements that have come in for them.  I do notice that I can tell which books were published by publishing companies and which books were published independently by me through Amazon, because I don't have access to a publicity team, so it's much harder to gather reviews, and these books just don't get the same exposure that the other books get.

I've been quite amused at some of the comments that have come in for a couple of these books: Green Witchcraft Grimoire: A Practical Resource for Making Your Own Spells, Rituals, & Recipes and The Essential Guide to Wicca for Beginners.  These books were contracted work.  This means that I was approached by a publishing company that already had an outline for a book, a very specific outline, down to the word count for each section, and I was offered this project for contract.  Once I accepted this project, the contract was received and signed, and it's very clear what's expected from you and when.

This type of work is very hard and fast.  It's on a very tight schedule and it's a marathon writing project.  This also includes a rigid publicity schedule for the author 4 to 6 weeks before the book is released and four to six weeks after its release.  This schedule, an actual schedule, comes with pre-planned release posts that are either a "fill in your book title", or suggestions for what they want done that day, such as "make a video", or "do an author-copies received" post, etc.  You get the picture.  This publicity work is all included in your contract and it comprises part of the work you do for the pay that you receive.

The contents for each section of the book are created entirely by the author who was contracted for the work.  There's also a lot of editing done with your editor, a couple zoom or skype meetings, a couple telephone conferences, and a back and forth editing process with our beloved Microsoft Word.  It's a process, and it's a meticulous process.  The company wants this book to be as pristine as possible for it's world debut.

• All in all, I enjoyed my experience, and the paycheck for this type of work is excellent, although the author does not retain rights to the manuscript.  Once you write this contracted book and send it off for production, it is no longer your property and you will not receive any royalties from future sales.  It's a one-time payment for your work deal.

• If you don't like to work under pressure, or under deadlines, you may not like this kind of experience.  It was grueling at times, but it also taught me that I can get a LOT more done than I thought I could.

• Also, with contracted work, the publishing company doesn't act as most employers do, where they withhold taxes for you and all that usual good stuff that goes with the business end of a paycheck.  You are responsible for paying the taxes on the money received for this work, and it can be substantial, depending on your perspective and your project.  This was a big drawback for me.  The year I had to claim this work, the taxes were paid on this income by the government simply claiming my $1400.00 stimulus check.  Which sucked, but at least it was paid.

What I found amusing was a couple of quirky reviewers that didn't like some of the spells included in these books: "I'll bet she just wrote these spells up and never tried them out."... Well, ya, some of these spells I did just that using my own spiritual practices and experience, and with a deadline for the material snapping at my heels.  But there were a lot of spells that I have personally worked and these spells and rituals were included in these books as well. (Coming from 40-some years experience)  There's probably over a hundred+ spells and rituals between these two books.

The only aspect of this type of work that I had negative feelings for were: 

1) coming up with 40 or 50 people for potential reviews and endorsements, including emails, and this was a required task... this just didn't seem like my job.  I felt like I was doing someone else's job for them.  I don't know if this is standard procedure, and I suppose it might be, but coming up with those names was very stressful, and then publishing a second book the same year, well, you can only ask so much of people.  I didn't' want to contact the same people twice.  And it might not seem like it, with all of the social media pages I have up, blogs and websites, YouTube channels, etc., but I'm actually a very reclusive introverted person in real life.  I don't interact with more than a small handful of people on the internet, so this task was much harder for me than what you may think.

2) also, I didn't like a new stipulation coming up in the process, where I was asked to make screen shots of the stats for my websites and blogs, giving a report on my traffic, etc.  I thought this was slightly bizarre and way out of line.  And no, I didn't do this, I passed on the project I was being offered.  This was too invasive for me, considering I'd already published two books with this company.  This also did not feel like my job, it's my opinion that there's a sales analyst or someone else out there who should be doing this stuff.  

Anyway, for writers out there, either published authors or those who are still working towards this goal, here you have it.  This is one way to get published and to support yourself as a writer at the same time.

Narcissists ~ why they deliberately try to make their partners jealous

 

Note:  it's easier for me to write this from a female perspective with appropriate pronouns, but don't let that fool you, female narcissists will do this to their partners too.

Have you experienced this?  Sometimes it reveals itself by a spouse or partner who will deliberately tell you inappropriate stories about a female co-worker, or stories that would best be shared with a group of guys (as distasteful as that sounds), even though they know you're not interested.  Psychologists make a good point about this behavior, in the fact that many of these men suffer from low self-esteem, and it will boost their crippled ego if they see jealousy in their partner.

At the same time, there is caution needed here, as narcissists in this mental state are also often very immature when it comes to the opposite sex, complicated by their never-ending need for confirmation about their virility and attractiveness to the opposite sex.  They're also very prone to being easily infatuated with every individual that comes along who stirs their romantic interest.  

So the partners of narcissistic individuals are wise to avoid such interaction, ignore it, or not get pulled into these mind games at all.

If you've ever had a partner who flirted with other people right in front of you, or chatted up attractive strangers and tried to make you feel like you couldn't measure up, well, maybe you were dating a narcissist.

And maybe they were doing it on purpose.

New research suggests that people who have a high level of narcissistic traits strategically induce jealousy in their mates as a way to meet certain goals: control, in some cases, or a boost in their self-esteem.

Types of Narcissists

Psychological research suggests that narcissistic personalities fall into two categories: 

• Grandiose Narcissists:  The first is grandiose narcissism, marked by entitlement, extroversion and high self-esteem. Grandiose narcissists are very self-assured.

• Vulnerable Narcissism:  The second category, vulnerable narcissism, describes people who are similarly entitled and willing to exploit people to get what they want. But vulnerable narcissists have an inherent fragility.  They are insecure, and have low self-esteem.

"... narcissists often sabotage their romantic relationships with behaviors like flirting with other people. Researchers have theorized that these love-killing behaviors are impulsive and that narcissists can't help themselves, but there might be more to the story"

Researchers asked 237 undergraduates to fill out questionnaires about their personality traits, jealousy-inducing behaviors, and the motives for those behaviors. They found that the more narcissistic the person, the more likely they were to try to make their romantic partners jealous.

Playing Head Games

The reasons for these romantic head games varied by the type of narcissism, though. 

• Grandiose narcissists reported being motivated by their desire to gain power and control within the relationship. 

• Vulnerable narcissists, on the other hand, tried to induce jealousy for multiple reasons: control was one, along with testing the relationship's strength, seeking security in the relationship, compensating for low self-esteem and exacting revenge for what they perceived to be their partner's bad behavior.

"They are, according to one study, inducing jealousy in their partners as a means to pursue some greater goal.  They're doing it intentionally."

Did we really violate community guidelines?

The Mothman

 

In West Virginia folklore, the Mothman is a humanoid creature reportedly seen in the Point Pleasant area from November 15, 1966, to December 15, 1967. The first newspaper report was published in the Point Pleasant Register, dated November 16, 1966, titled "Couples See Man-Sized Bird -- Creature -- Something". The national press soon picked up the reports and helped spread the story across the United States.

The Mothman was introduced to a wider audience by Gray Barker in 1970, and was later popularized by John Keel in his 1975 book The Mothman Prophecies, claiming that there were supernatural events related to the sightings, and a connection to the collapse of the Silver Bridge. The book was later adapted into a 2002 film, starring Richard Gere.

On November 15, 1966, two young couples from Point Pleasant—Roger and Linda Scarberry, and Steve and Mary Mallette—told police they saw a large grey creature whose eyes "glowed red" when the car's headlights picked it up. They described it as a "large flying man with ten-foot wings", following their car while they were driving in an area outside of town known as "the TNT area", the site of a former World War II munitions plant.

During the next few days, other people reported similar sightings. Two volunteer firemen who saw it said it was a "large bird with red eyes". Mason County Sheriff George Johnson commented that he believed the sightings were due to an unusually large heron he termed a "shitepoke". Contractor Newell Partridge told Johnson that when he aimed a flashlight at a creature in a nearby field, its eyes glowed "like bicycle reflectors". Additionally, he blamed buzzing noises from his television set and the disappearance of his German Shepherd dog on the creature. Wildlife biologist Robert L. Smith at West Virginia University told reporters that descriptions and sightings all fit the sandhill crane, a large American crane almost as tall as a man with a seven-foot wingspan featuring circles of reddish coloring around the eyes. The bird may have wandered out of its migration route, and therefore was unrecognized at first because it was not native to this region.

Batman and his antagonist Killer Moth are varyingly cited as influences for the term "Mothman"

Due to the popularity of the Batman TV series at the time, the fictional superhero Batman and his rogue's gallery were prominently featured in the public eye. While the villain Killer Moth did not appear in the show, the comic book influence of both him and Batman is believed by some to have influenced the coinage of the name “Mothman” in the local newspapers.

Following the December 15, 1967 collapse of the Silver Bridge and the death of 46 people, the incident gave rise to the legend and connected the Mothman sightings to the bridge collapse.

According to Georgian newspaper Svobodnaya Gruziya, Russian UFOlogists claim that Mothman sightings in Moscow foreshadowed the 1999 Russian apartment bombings.

The Mothman Prophecies (2002) is a major motion picture, loosely based on the 1975 book of the same name by John Keel.

In 2016, WCHS-TV published a photo purported to be of Mothman taken by an anonymous man while driving on Route 2 in Mason County. Science writer Sharon A. Hill proposed that the photo showed "a bird, perhaps an owl, carrying a frog or snake away" and wrote that "there is zero reason to suspect it is the Mothman as described in legend. There are too many far more reasonable explanations."

Folklorist Jan Harold Brunvand notes that Mothman has been widely covered in the popular press, some claiming sightings connected with UFOs, and others claiming that a military storage site was Mothman's "home". Brunvand notes that recountings of the 1966–67 Mothman reports usually state that at least 100 people saw Mothman with many more "afraid to report their sightings" but observed that written sources for such stories consisted of children's books or sensationalized or undocumented accounts that fail to quote identifiable persons. Brunvand found elements in common among many Mothman reports and much older folk tales, suggesting that something real may have triggered the scares and became woven with existing folklore. He also records anecdotal tales of Mothman supposedly attacking the roofs of parked cars occupied by teenagers.

Conversely, Joe Nickell says that a number of hoaxes followed the publicity generated by the original reports, such as a group of construction workers who tied flashlights to helium balloons. Nickell attributes the Mothman stories to sightings of barn owls, suggesting that the Mothman's "glowing eyes" were actually red-eye effect caused from the reflection of light from flashlights or other bright light sources. Benjamin Radford points out that the only report of glowing "red eyes," was secondhand, that of Shirley Hensley quoting her father.

According to University of Chicago psychologist David A. Gallo, 55 sightings of Mothman in Chicago during 2017 published on the website of self-described Fortean researcher Lon Strickler are "a selective sample". Gallo explains that "he's not sampling random people and asking if they saw the Mothman – he's just counting the number of people that voluntarily came forward to report a sighting." According to Gallo, "people more likely to visit a paranormal-centric website like Strickler's might also be more inclined to believe in, and therefore witness, the existence of a Mothman."

Some pseudoscience adherents (such as ufologists, paranormal authors, and cryptozoologists) claim that Mothman was an alien, a supernatural manifestation, or a previously unknown species of animal. In his 1975 book, Keel claimed that the Point Pleasant residents experienced precognitions including premonitions of the collapse of the Silver Bridge, UFO sightings, visits from inhuman or threatening men in black, and other phenomena.

Emotional Cheating ~ 10 signs that's what you're doing

 

How do you know if you are "emotionally cheating" on your partner?  Honestly, I would've thought that the individual who is doing this would have some idea, but I've done quite a bit of reading on this topic preparing for this post, and actually, there can be quite a bit of denial going on when someone is involved emotionally.  You'll hear a lot of "we're just friends", which is either overly-stated to convince themselves, or to convince their partner.

I found a very good article on this topic, and I'm going to just post the 10 signs right off the bat, and then we'll briefly explore the rest of it.  You'll find the original source for this information at the bottom of this post, which also contains links to other topics, as well as a link to a behavioral health specialist. Top Ten Signs of Emotional Cheating

 

• You share things with the other person that you haven’t shared with your partner.
• You confide in the other person about your relationship troubles.
• You’ve become more detached and emotionally disconnected from your partner.
• You think about the other person all the time.
• You are less intimate with your partner.
• You lie to your partner about your relationship with the other person.
• You compare the other person to your partner.
• You fantasize romantically or dream about the other person.
• You hide or delete texts or emails on your phone, computer, etc.
• You become defensive and sensitive when your partner questions your relationship with the other person.

What to do about emotional cheating?

If you identify with some of the signs of emotional cheating, how do you begin to address them? 

• Be honest with yourself.

Acknowledge that you’re becoming emotionally involved with someone other than your partner.

• End the emotional affair.

To bring yourself back to the reality of your relationship with your partner, break off the relationship completely, rather than setting boundaries to continue this relationship.

• Reflect on what is missing in your current relationship.

Identify what you were getting from this other person that you weren’t getting in your current relationship. You may even want to involve a licensed behavioral health specialist to help.

• Discuss your emotional needs and reasons with your partner.

Whether or not you decide to let your partner know about your emotional affair, you do need to let your partner know that your relationship needs work. You might be surprised to find that they feel the same way. Be open and clear about what you both need in your relationship – emotionally, physically and intellectually—then make each other’s needs a priority.

• Recommit to your relationship.

Agree on dedicated time together. Be supportive of one another. Check in with your partner regularly and communicate what’s happening in your life. Enjoy dates with each other and find new ways to have fun together.

To YouTube promoters, professional book reviewers, publicists, website promotional teams, literary agents, and all the other many talented people who have reached out in some capacity and who wish to help me sell books or become a YouTube sensation, thank you for reaching out, but...

I enjoy making videos for my little YouTube channel and doing general readings -- and then only when I feel like it. I believe that if a reading is meant for someone, Spirit will lead them to it. I'm not posting these videos to reach a gazillion people. My videos are not even monetized; I don't receive any compensation for the production of them, and that's okay.  Some of my videos contain advertisements, and that's because YouTube has added them to these videos and is profiting from them.  I would prefer that my videos remain ad-free, but that is not a choice that I have.

At this age and stage of life, I don't pay for publicity, promotions, agents, or advertisements. I'm a 65-year-old retiree on social security enjoying a more leisurely approach to life.

However, again, thank you for reaching out and showing interest in my books, my YouTube channel, as well as my blogs and websites, and future projects.  It's nice to know that you're never too old and that what you are writing and creating looks inviting and promising.

• Magickal Correspondences:

When you're putting together a spell, which is simply a ritual (or "prayer", if this makes it easier for you to understand), you're going to want as many "correspondences" as possible that jive with the energy you are choosing to work with, which encompasses your intention, whatever that may be.  When you have as many correspondences as you can get to correlate with your energy and intention, the more successful your spells will be. (Always work with the flow of energy, not against it)
